Collected Editions:

  • In October of 2023, Black Library released the first collected edition of Coil-stories in the form of a prestige, limited-edition box set (with the added benefit of the author making the effort of personally signing every copy and adding a puzzle of quotes scattered throughout all of the signatures). It was limited to 1,000 copies that sold out quickly, but I have hope that this points to the possibility that the publisher will at some point make a regular omnibus available for sale (whether with the same or a different collection of stories).

  • And indeed, lo and behold: In October 2024, Black Library announced the upcoming release of not just one, but two Dark Coil omnibuses: Dark Coil: Damnation and Dark Coil: Ascension. Each is supposed to collect two Coil novels and more than half a dozen short stories. They are likely due for release at some point in 2025.

More to read and listen about the Dark Coil and its author

If you want to learn more about the world of the Dark Coil and get an overview of the relevant stories, a suggested reading order as well as the most important places and factions, there’s a helpful article about just that on the blog Track of Words: A Traveller’s Guide to Peter Fehervari’s Dark Coil

While I don’t provide a whole transcript of my own discussion with Peter Fehervari, there are several places on the internet where you can read or listen to the author verbatim discussing his works, his approach to writing and his perspective on the universe of Warhammer 40k.
